From the press

Everything Theatre

A Young(ish) Perspective

"good comic timing especially from Slade and Inchbald, who give it their all, both vocally and physically. Slade’s delivery is strong and he finds comic variety... Inchbald [is] getting maximum humour by being totally dead-pan"

- Everything Theatre

"a farce where surreal beats real, hands down"

- Everything Theatre

"Inchbald finds plenty of nuance in the long suffering Jasmine and Slade manages the contrast between Leonard and his all-American alter ego Leo (inspired by McConaughey) well."

London Pub Theatres

"A wacky, surreal comdey romp"

- Everything Theatre

"Alright, Alright, Alright is a very funny play"

- A Young(ish) Perspective for previous version (2024)

“It's hilarious”

“It's absolutely bonkers... Everyone in it is spot on”

“The pace doesn't drop"

"I thought the acting was phenomenal!"

"Great soundrack"

“It was amazing, it's really funny! I enjoyed it very much”

"Super funny when it tried to be funny, and really sincere and dramatic when it tried to be so"

"I particularly loved the satire about cinema... All your favourite 80s and 90s films are in there”

What audiences had to say...

About the process

Director - Designer

As a director, I love working with designers and I enjoy the process of stage design incredibly. Thinking about the space, the set and movement compositions is the first thing I do once a venue is secured. The dialogue with the designer is one of the things I look forward to the most in a creative process, and I've been so lucky to work with incredibly talented designers so far.

But sometimes you just don't have the budget for it... And yet, I couldn't give up on the potential for a distinct aesthetic, that would add dynamism to the storytelling and an extra layer of meaning.

So for ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT I decided to wear the design hat myself. I was blessed with a wonderful team that welcomed my crazy ideas, and went with them.

With an almost zero budget, and some help from a couple of dads (it's not a real fringe show if you didn't get your dad to build something for you!), we managed to make a dynamic set with a nostalgic taste to it. I am very proud of the result.
