My final production of my bachelor's degree was a 45 min adaptation of Tom Stoppard's iconic play. I designed a stage that was inspired by the games of chess, checkers and a card deck, while the narrative's unfolding drew on concepts from The Truman Show. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are trying to understand where they are and what they're supposed to do in the world, as different characters constantly surprise them with new demands. The Player, Claudius and Hamlet, all played by the same actor, appear and disappear into a mysterious place that seems right out of reach. Who put them in this thriller show and could it be that it's all leading towards their unevitable demise?
Presented at Bilhaa Theatre, Tel Aviv, as part of my B.Ed in Theatre Directing and Drama Teaching showcase.
